Art Camp with YMCA Cedar Glen

YMCA Cedar Glen has partnered with the Alton Mill Arts Centre to provide a unique arts day camp for ages 9 -12. All one-week sessions will be taught by professional artists in their studios at the Alton Mill www.altonmill.ca

Week 1: July 2-5 and Week 6: August 6-9 - Campers will learn basic drawing techniques with C.J. Shelton, abstract painting with Lucille Weber, jewellery making with Gallery Gemma and landscape painting or mask making with Paul Morin. Four-day weeks, maximum group size: 11.

Week 2: July 8-12 - Create shadow boxes and art in motion with Paul Morin, drawing with C.J. Shelton and create encaustic paintings with an ancient method that uses bees wax and oil paints. Five-day week, maximum group size: 8.

Week 7: Aug 12-16 - Campers will learn basic drawing techniques with C.J. Shelton, abstract painting with Lucille Weber, jewellery making with Gallery Gemma and pottery with Ann Randeraad. Five-day week, maximum group size: 8.

Each session culminates with campers spending all day Friday at YMCA Cedar Glen, where they will participate in fun and exciting camp theme days and traditional day camp activities. Busing for this camp is included and is available from: Pinegrove Public School, Kleinburg Public School, Caledon East United Church and Caledon Central Pool. Campers are accompanied and supervised by YMCA counsellors throughout the week.
