Alton Millpond Ice Rink Open to the Public
January 24, 2016
The Alton Millpond ice rink is open to the public when the ice conditions are safe. The rink is in ideal condition now thanks to the luck of the weather gods and the hard work of many people.
However, we do not maintain the ice in terms of flooding and detailed shovelling. Shovels are on hand, and we ask you to respect the Canadian tradition of outdoor rinks by kindly clearing the ice when you come to use it.
Use of the rink is completely AT YOUR OWN RISK. When ice conditions are not safe, please heed our "rink closed" sign. Caution and common sense need to prevail at all times.
If you do come to skate, have fun, be careful, and please consider patronizing the Alton Mill! Our Shaw’s Creek Café sells delicious light fare (soups, salads, sandwiches, baked treats) as well as coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cold beverages. Of course, the art studios and galleries in the building are also nice to visit!
