What's On This Week...
May 26, 2020
Due to COVID-19 the Alton Mill Arts Centre is temporarily closed to the public. Our studio artists have access to their individual workspaces, are available by appointment with appropriate physical distancing, and many are active on-line. Go to our directory page for their contact information, or to see what's they're up to online check #altonmillathome.
During this difficult time, we encourage you to get outside and enjoy all the parks and trails that our beautiful Headwaters Region has to offer. Caledon alone has over 260km of public trails, and you can find trail maps on the Town of Caledon website. While they have closed playgrounds and other gathering spaces, "at present green spaces in parks and trails remain open for walkthrough access, but individuals must maintain the safe physical distance of at least two metres apart from others."
Same with the Alton Mill grounds, they remain open to the public for a stroll through our lovely sculpture garden. We simply ask you to be mindful of keeping your distance and picking up any trash or dog droppings. Also please be aware that the connecting Millcroft trails are temporarily closed.
Finally, we encourage you to express yourself creatively through the arts - spend some of your time at home making art or music, dancing, writing, and other endeavours. It’s important to build community through storytelling, and use the digital tools that we have available. Tag @AltonMill on social media and we’ll share our favourites!
