The Headwaters Arts Gallery presents “The Best of SOVA” exhibition and sale featuring Southern Ontario Visual Artists Robert Chisholm, Lynden Cowan, Helen Duplassie, Charlene Nickels, Margaret Pardy and Steve Wilson! This show extends from Wednesday, August 17th to Sunday, September 11, with a Meet the Artist reception on Sunday, August 21st from 1 – 4pm.
Robert Chisholm is an accomplished acrylic painter with an intuitive, impressionistic style influenced by his Maritime roots. Robert has several awards to his credit.
Lyden Cowan is an award winning self taught oil painter noted for her realism approach to Canadian landscapes that have been collected internationally.
Helen Duplassie paints primarily in oils and watercolours but has also explored dye on silk and acrylics. The artist prefers landscapes and frequently works ‘plein aire’.
Charlene Nickels faces the challenges that watercolour medium presents with passion and skill for fine detail. Many of Charlene’s subjects are from Prince Edward Island which she visits frequently through the seasons.
Margaret Pardy paints wildlife in various mediums and is internationally recognized for her award winning scratch board work.
Steve Wilson is an award winning international artist noted for his 3D artwork and unique contemporary life scenes that immediately engage the viewer.
The Southern Ontario Visual Artists have won may awards and belong to numerous art group and associations.
Robert, Lynden and Charlene can be found in Studio 202 at the Alton Mill. Margaret and Steve can be found in Studio 211. Helen paints from a studio in her home.
