10th Annual Fire & Ice Festival
Saturday, January 19 & Sunday, January 20
 
The Alton Mill Arts Centre's all-ages community festival celebrating outdoor winter fun & flames returns for the 10th anniversay year with highlights including: an after-dusk fire sculpture on Saturday, millpond skating and curling, maple syrup and other tasty treats, a super snow slide, bonfires, indoor storytelling and indoor art activities, and more! Rediscover the joys of Canadian winter.
 
Lace up your skates! The 10th annual Alton Millpond Hockey Classic is set for Saturday, January 19 and the puck drops for the first game at 8am. Watch as women's, men's, youth & mixed teams raise funds for the Millpond Rehabilitation Project and compete for the Millpond Cup! After the final game at 4 pm, the rink is open for skating. The Hot Stove Lounge returns from 6-11pm, featuring the Habs and Flyers Sens on the big screen in the Millrace room, with pub food, a cash bar, 50/50 prizes and a silent auction. Tickets for the Hot Stove Lounge are $30, available at the Cafe in the Mill, or from hockey@altonmill.ca. Over the past 9 years, sponsors and participants have raised just under $90,000 towards the Alton Millpond Rehabilitation Project. 
 
Admission for the Fire & Ice Festival is Pay What You Can. Suggested donation $10 per adult, $5 per child, $25 per family. Free parking and shuttle bus are offered from offsite parking lots. Activities are subject to change without notice, and weather conditions may affect outdoor programming.
