Nothing lends itself to watercolour painting quite as beautifully as our Canadian landscape in the heart of the winter. In this workshop you will spend a delightful afternoon painting an iconic scene of birch trees casting their long blue shadows across a snowy field.

Whether you are a new to watercolour or already have some experience in this session you will learn some simple ways to effectively capture the effect of snow drifts and shadows, create mood-creating background effects with misty, stormy or sunny skies and, of course, how to paint those wonderful black and white birch trees.

Beginners and advanced students alike will learn (or hone) various traditional watercolour techniques such as washes, wet-in-wet, glazing, dry brush and more. All materials will be supplied but experienced students are encouraged to bring their own paints and brushes.

COST:  $90 + HST per person
