The Falls Gallery is excited to present the works of Mill artist, Julia Vandepolder! Her exhibition, New Paintings From 2016-17, will be on display from March 29 through April 23, 2017.

The show features a series of recent small- scaled still life paintings that depict flowers, views from windows and other familiar motifs. These works are noted for their beautiful tonal subtlety, use of light and energetic gestures. Through the language of paintings, she pays great homage to the visionary avant-garde painters of the late 19th to early 20th century.

From 2004- 2009, Vandepolder attended The University of Guelph, where she received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Art History and Studio Art programs. Her work has been exhibited at public and private galleries across Canada including solo and group shows in Toronto, Halifax and Salt Spring Island. She is the recipient of numerous awards and grants. Her paintings are included in national private and corporate collections such as BMO Financial Group. Julia maintains a disciplined practice in Studio 200 at the Alton Mill.
