The 3rd annual Cuisine-Art promises to be nothing short of spectacular. With the return of our popular Toonie Tastings, the area’s finest in Art, Food and Drink, our Open Air Market, and Humber River Shakespeare Company performances of Comedy of Errors, Cuisine-Art is the event of the summer – you will not want to miss it!
Cecily Ross, editor of the area's latest food publication, Food in the Hills and former food & wine editor of The Globe and Mail, will officially open Cuisine-Art at 11:00 am Saturday July 16th as she introduces the first of six culinary BBQ demonstrations featuring award-winning local chefs:

1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Chef Phil Dewar of Soulyve Caribbean Foods
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Chef Jason Perkins of Ray’s Bistro Bakery
Toonie Tastings sample delicious tidbits from the chefs' demos for just $2. All proceeds go to the Alton Millpond Rehabilitation Fund.
Open Studios – the Alton Mill artists and artisans will be opening their studios to the public all weekend – this is your chance to experience the creative process of some 25 individuals in their own working environment, and come away with that perfect piece of artwork or a hand-crafted gift.
Art and Drink Pairings at various locations around the Mill match our artists' work with samples of beverages from Churchill Cellars, Spirit Tree Estate Cidery, Wellington Brewery, The Wine Coaches, Shaw’s Creek Café and more. Visitors are encouraged to Pick the Perfect Pair and choose their favourite Art /Drink combination.
Give it a Whirl Encaustic Demonstrations at noon, 2 and 3 p.m. Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17.
Encaustic is an ancient method of painting with beeswax and oil paint... it's very playful and spontaneous - Come by and see what all the 'buzz' is about! Studio 201: the hive. Suggested donation: $10 per person to cover material costs.
The Cuisine-Art Marketplace, open Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm in the Annex Courtyard, will feature fresh organic produce and local market offerings.
Performance - the Humber River Shakespeare Company launches Cuisine-Art with two performances of The Comedy of Errors on Friday July 15th and Saturday July 16th at 7:00 pm outdoors in the Annex (or indoors in the Millrace Room if raining). Admission is Pay-What-You-Can with a suggested $20.00 donation. Bring your own lawn chair or rent one of ours for $5.00.
Stay the whole day! Enjoy a meal before the Play! with boxed dinners by Shaw’s Creek Café or a special pre-theatre dinner package at the Millcroft Inn. Click for details.
Enjor a Cash Bar (wine and beer only) both evenings until intermission. Shaw’s Creek Café will also be open during the performance until 8:00 pm with something for everyone.
