What a great opportunity to work with master painter Zan Barrage in a beautiful natural environment! The key to painting outdoors is designing an exciting composition that is simple and effective. Usually when students paint in an indoor studio environment they are provided with an image to paint from, this image has usually been composed by someone else. When you are working on location, one of the biggest difficulties is deciding what to paint and how to design your painting. This is your opportunity to learn to design, simplify and compose your own image, your own composition in order for you to learn how to create original artwork that is truly your own. You can use any of the following mediums in this class such as Watercolours, Oils or Pastels. Zan has been painting on location for over 20 years and he absolutely loves it because it is so exciting to paint in nature and he is ready to share his on location painting skills with you. There is a covered atrium that can be used during any non-cooperative weather. Come and enjoy the beautiful and natural grounds of the Alton Mill which will make such great subject matter for this class.
