Get creative this August and join us in making this year's fairy doors project bigger than ever.
What is a fairy door??
A fairy door is a miniature door usually placed at the bottom of a tree or a branch to act as a gateway to the fairy realm.Perfect for families, artists, and anyone who wants to get crafty, the Fairy Doors Project is our mission to adorn our hiking trail with community art and add a sense of whimsy to the forest.

Project Details:
Submission Period: August 1 - August 31, 2024
Submission Specifications: Any media or shape including wood, bark, sticks, clay, epoxy, moss, rocks, fibre, or metal
Maximum Size: 6” x 8” (15 x 20 cm)
Submissions will be categorized into three prize groups:
- Professional Artist
- Creative Adult 16+
- Youth under 16
Submissions will be accepted in person, please drop your doors off to Rare Threads in the Alton Mill Arts Centre.
Voting will begin August 31st, the last day of submissions. Voting will be accessible virtually.
