With a heart locked up tighter than a cash box, Scrooge must encounter the visits by three spirits for the chance to open up his heart and relish in the joys and aspirations of his fellow man.
This adaptation of Dickens' classic tale reawakens the true spirit of Christmas in a heart-stirring Carol of profound beauty and redemption. With Victorian costumes, enchanting masks and an antique trunk of story-telling treasures, five actors transport you from Scrooge's cold bedroom, to Fezziwig's joyful party, the Cratchit's meager table, to the dismal churchyard and the brightness of a Christmas morning fresh with snow.
A heart-warming event for Tiny Tims and Scrooges alike!
Now in its eighth season of production, the company offers professional and accessible theatre year-round to communities in the Humber Watershed and beyond. With Shakespeare-in-the-Park in the summer, to innovative and original Canadian works in unique spaces in the fall, school tours and A Christmas Carol in the winter, Humber River Shakespeare truly aims to be a part of the communities it visits. Plus, following the play there will be a performance by the Ondine Chorus in the Paul Morin Gallery, begining at 8:15pm. Ticket holders for a Christmas Carol can also use their tickets to gain admittance to the Ondine Chorus show for the advance ticket price of only $20.
