"I would like to thank the Dufferin Arts Council for awarding me the Reed T. Cooper Bursary which enabled me to travel to Newfoundland for a 2-week self-directed artist residency.
The beauty of this province is at times overwhelming, leaving one feeling small and humble. At other times it is desolate, almost haunting, shrouded in mystery by the rolling fog
The majesty of the rugged land and seascapes triggered feelings of awe and wonder, reminding me of the greatness and holiness of God, the magnificence of his creation, feelings and emotions I have tried to capture in this body of work." - Deb Menken
