Headwaters Arts Gallery presents True North, a new group show. This four week show & sale, on display from Wednesday, May 30 to Sunday, July 8, 2018, will showcase both two and three-dimensional works from member artists Joy Blackburn, Karen Brown, Ed Clark, Angela Coleman, Michael Compeau, Cathy Dalton, Andrea End, Sue Ennis, Diana Hillman, Lawrence Kristan, Ruth Maude, Kai-Liis McInnes, Rosemary Molesworth, Sherry Park and Jackie Warmelink.  The Opening Reception for True North is Saturday, June 2 from 1 – 4 pm; all are welcome to attend.

With a diverse selection of artists, this show once again demonstrates the depth of talent held within its membership. This show has allowed these individual artists to showcase what they feel represents our great country. From abstract to traditional to whimsical, the artists offer a varied selection of what True North means!

True North brings back some of our audience favourites with artists like Diana Hillman, an award-winning landscape artist and clay artist Rosemary Molesworth, while also bringing some new talent into the fold. Joy Blackburn, a local portrait photographer and relatively new member, is a busy mother of four who offers this show an interesting departure in tone. Ruth Maude, also a recent member, shares her exploration of encaustic painting.  She says ‘Encaustic is my art partner. Often there’s an interesting call and response dynamic between what the wax chooses to do and my intention as I paint.’

As always, the Headwaters Arts Gallery presents a cross-section of work for the enjoyment of all.

True North runs from Wednesday, May 30th to Sunday, July 8th in the Headwaters Arts Gallery located in Alton Mill Arts Centre.  The Opening Reception is Saturday, June 2 from 1 – 4 pm and all are welcomed.  Admission is free.
