People like spending time at the Alton Mill. It has something to do with the beauty of the surroundings and being around other creative individuals. There's just a great "vibe" here.

If you have certain studios or galleries in mind for your business/craft, you can always place your name on our waiting list to be notified of any changes in tenancy around the mill.
Rental rates are structured as a “semi-gross” lease, where the total rent, including common expenses and utilities, is established for the first year. The rents are subject to escalation to cover operating cost increases in subsequent years. Semi-gross rents start at from about $500 per month (plus HST) for a 285 sq. ft. studio to approximately $1,200 per month starting rent for a retail space. The retail spaces also have a percentage rent clause, where the landlord earns a percentage of sales over and above a set minimum. This gives the Mill’s owners a financial interest in helping to make your business successful.
All tenants also pay into a common marketing fund which is used to promote regular events and awareness of the mill as a destination amongst our target market. The annual budget is established in consultation with all the tenants, and a broadly representative Joint Marketing Committee plans and implements the Mill’s marketing activities and events throughout the year.
