The Alton Mill Arts Centre is very pleased to announce the opening and inaugural show of the Noodle Gallery in its new, expanded exhibition space on the main floor of the historic building in the Village of Alton, Caledon, on Saturday, October the 14th (reception and launch party from 1-5pm). Noodle Gallery, owned by Monica Kerr-Coster and Robin Coster, brings a creative and innovative flair for stylish and whimsical fine art and furnishings to the Alton Mill; and in a larger space that will continue to showcase the work of local furniture and lighting designer John Leenders, while introducing other craftsmen such as Jim Todd to the gallery collection, and featuring a year-round artisanal market, including pieces by Noodle fixtures - Beebydesign, the Cheryll Collins Collection, kukucaju, Katie McLellan, Jenny Lorito and Fraser Forsythe Pottery. Kerr-Coster says that the gallery will continue to deliver the same industrial and "edgy-contemporary" look that was upstairs and adds that the larger space will give a better framing perspective for the scale of John Leenders' pieces.

The opening exhibition from the  Noodle Gallery "Of Wind and Water" (October 14 - November 5) features a collection of artwork by Lisa D. Hickey, Kate Taylor, and Helen Utsal. The exhibition is a nod to the fall season and the vibrancy of colour found at this time of year.  Kerr-Coster notes that the Noodle Gallery has always included natural and antique rustic references, and attempts to recreate the nostalgia and feel of an old country store; with chalkboards, and quotes relevant to the exhibiting artists or season.

Kerr-Coster has imagined the new Noodle Gallery with interior designers and homeowners in mind, and she hopes to create a space where her customers feel at home, "one where they can linger, and take the time to explore, and discover, the furniture and fine art."
