Figure painter Lynda Clare Grant collaborates with photographer Pete Herlihy and their model George Aucoin to develop a narrative of images depicting the complexity and turmoil of PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).

Continuous views of the many emotional symptoms in which both she herself, and her model are in treatment, are represented from poses developed during sev eral photo sessions. Taking Pete's choreographed photos one step further, George used his own di gital manipulations to "push" each mood to a heightened level of dramatic expression. Taking the viewer's awareness even further, he chose to accompany several images with his own words and poetry.

The resulting effects from all the photo images are expressed in Lynda's soulful, compelling renditions; combining layers of
both direct and indirect markmaking. Notions of the emotional angst and frustration emerge through distorted applications of paints and mixed media. The show runs in The Bartlett Gallery at the Alton Mill Arts Centre in Caledon from June 15 to July 14, 2013. Artists opening June 15, 14pm.
