Upstairs on the second floor of the Mill, step into the imagination of our artists! Choose from a variety of interactive workshops and demos taking place over our Fire & Ice weekend. Or hear a spellbinding fire and ice themed story from one of our guest presenters Doug E. Bell.
The Hive Encaustic Studio: Ever tried painting with wax? Learn about the ancient art of encaustic - painting with beeswax - stop by the Hive’s workshop to “Give it a Whirl” in Studio 201. CJ Shelton: Artist CJ Shelton will be leading “Story Art – 'Tails' of Courage” in Studio 206. Meet CJ’s painting of a horse named “Courage”, share your thoughts on what story he is telling and consider your own stories of courage as you contribution to her group mandala of horse “tails”. This is a free activity in CJ’s Studio #206 on the upper floor. All are welcome to join her circle of story art anytime throughout the Fire & Ice weekend.
Mark Grice: On Sunday afternoon 1-4pm, paint your own pond hockey player with Mark Grice! Customize the hockey player with your name, number and sweater color. Pre-registration required, $40/canvas. Canvas size, 16"x20". Email: hosstylegallery@yahoo.com
Saturday 1-3 pm Caledon Library Youth Services will be presenting a drop-in hands-on story-time activity for kids. On Sunday, raconteur Doug Bell will present spellbinding fire and ice themed tales suitable for all ages.
